It was heard by each of us, yet not a word was said.
With his soft nose nuzzled against our faces, accepting kisses
and hugs,he would peek through his tousled forelock and softly
whisper in return
,
“I love you too”.
The Field of Dreams family is smaller now ~
because of the passing of our sweet little boy, Izek.

To Izek, every day was special.
Every minute a celebration, every moment a new adventure.
He lived his hopes and dreams to the fullest in the nurturing fields around him.
He recognized and was grateful for a life filled with love.

Although he was small in size, his spirit was bigger than life.
With time and tenderness, this scrappy little pony
learned to unlock his guarded heart.
He encouraged lasting friendships and took pleasure in holding on to our thoughts.
His endearing behavior and fun-filled nature
brought smiles and laughter to everyone who shared in his life.

Izek was affectionately referred to as the “Squirt”.
For the reasons being ~ his actions were playful and his manner good-natured.
His pasture buddies were his teachers and most importantly his very best friends.
He’d tease and taunt and pester with unrelenting nips and tugs,
and then with a submissive mouthing gesture he'd retreat to his place among them.

The sound of treats, apples and carrots
would prompt him into what looked like a well choreographed dance.
His nicker would be persistent and could be heard by everyone within.
It was his attempt at being noticed and he was successful every time.
And when the dreaded hose was taken out front for hooves and legs to be cleaned,
he’d plant those tiny feet and stand firmly on the ground,
with absolutely no intention of ever crossing from the barn.

Izek’s little legs traveled through each day with complete happiness.
He accepted the challenge of his body with strength and understanding.
He would run across the fields as quickly as the wind would blow through the trees.
His tumbles were of no consequence ~ merely adding to the joy of the day.
The pasture was his playground with sun, rain, wind and snow an added toy.  He followed a path that had no
ending in sight,
where his footprints remained in nature, as well as in our hearts.
~ Star light, star bright
First star I see tonight
~
The flicker of a newborn shinning star is now tucked into the heavens above.
A star that will remain forever over the pastures of Field of Dreams.
And if we look with our hearts, we will truly see ~
A cherished little pony, with a wiggle in his walk,
A twinkle of happiness in his eye
And a heart that holds the love of those he left behind.

Sweet dreams, little boy.
